Leadership Gender Data Collection 2021

We would like to thank all companies who have worked hard to improve the gender balance of their boards and leadership teams in recent years.

We are pleased that a successor phase of the work has been approved by Government and the FTSE Women Leaders Review will continue into 2021 and beyond. FTSE 350 companies will have received a communication in July (see below) advising of this year’s reporting timeline.  The Review, which is an independent, business-led framework supported by the Government will announce a further set of recommendations for FTSE 350 companies to improve the representation of Women on Boards and in Leadership positions. KPMG UK and Lloyds Banking Group will be the corporate sponsors for this next phase of the work.

The Review’s predecessor, the Hampton-Alexander Review, set a minimum 33% target for women on FTSE 350 Boards and in the two layers  below the board, the Executive Committee and the Direct Reports to the Executive Committee (Leadership), by the end of 2020. The Women on Boards targets were achieved in the aggregate for the FTSE 350 at the end of 2020, with the Leadership targets just falling short at 29%.

We fully recognise the impact of the global COVID-19 outbreak may still be having an adverse effect on business activities and priorities, and are keen to alleviate additional pressure on business, as well as continue each year to capture progress.

We will therefore be adhering to the same process and timelines as last year with the Leadership snap-shot reporting date as at 31st October 2021, and Leadership data to be submitted during the month of November.

The Portal will open for submissions on Monday 1st November 2021, and will close on Tuesday 30th November.
